ADR-0016: A proxy corpus develops the pipeline; it is never the delivered corpus

Status: Accepted — amends ADR-0011, which stands Date: 2026-09-02

Decisions

D-28 Pipeline development runs against public SDS for the chemicals R-25 names, while access to The Plant is pursued

Acetone, IPA and Toluene, from public manufacturer sources. Used to build parsing, curation, translation and rendering.

D-29 The proxy corpus is scaffolding and must never ship as the Corpus

ADR-0011's rejection of public manufacturer PDFs stands in full for what is delivered. When the binder arrives the proxy is removed, not merged. น้ำยาล้างชิ้นงาน is the proof: no public source holds the SDS for the specific blend The Plant buys, so a Corpus containing it is demonstrably The Plant's, and a Corpus without it demonstrably is not.

Context

ADR-0011 made The Plant's binder a hard external dependency, and access is not yet secured (R-22 says กรณีศึกษา, case study, but a poster can say that while meaning "the kind of place this is for"). Without mitigation, either the whole effort waits on a phone call, or stage 2 gets specified against a corpus that may never exist.

Rejected options

  • Wait for the binder before building anything — rejected as leaving the schedule hostage to a third party who has promised nothing.
  • Quietly keep public PDFs as the corpus — this is the rejected option from ADR-0011 wearing a different name, and it is the specific abuse this ADR exists to name.

This ruling may not be re-decided

If a change contradicts this ADR: stop and raise it. Do not implement over it.

Explicit abuse warning. "Proxy corpus" is exactly the phrase someone would use to ship the option ADR-0011 rejected — the substitution is invisible in the UI, and every screen keeps working. Any build whose Corpus contains no document sourced from The Plant is running on scaffolding, whatever it is called. Say so out loud rather than letting a demo imply otherwise.
